UN Women is silence about rape and murder

Send an Email to countries that fund UN Women, tell them: Ignoring the suffering of Israeli women is intolerable!

UN Women is the global champion for gender equality, working to develop and uphold standards and create an environment in which every woman and girl can exercise her human rights and live up to her full potential. UN Women is funded mainly by goverment parteners *#tax comitted to making gender equality and empowerment a global priotiry.

Israel shared documents describing cases of rape and gender-based atrocities carried out by Hamas terrorists during their mass, brutal terror attack in Israel on Oct. 7 with the United Nations. The documents are horrifyingly graphic and all of it extremely intimate. The response: Silence. The United Nations Women organizaton is ignoring them even after a petition with thousands of signitures was sent. At the same time UN Women pulished several statements and articles about women in Gaza during the ongoing war, but not a word about Israeli women!

In addition to the petition which was sent to UNWomen, we ask everyone to email the below text to the states which fund UNWomen. It is intolerable that an international organization in charge of protecting the rights of women worldwide will ignore the crimes committed against Israeli women only because of their nationality.

Excellency,

We are writing to seek your assistance in ensuring that UNWomen, a United Nations entity, applies its mandate to protect the rights of women, and to end violence against women, without discrimination on the basis of race, nationality or religion.

On October 7th, 2023 Hamas attacked Israeli civilians, and raped, tortured, abused, burned alive, kidnapped and murdered hundreds of Israeli women of all ages, including pregnant women.

Although UNWomen has already published several reports on the situation of Palestinian women in Gaza, it completely ignores the violent sexual crimes that Hamas committed against Israeli women. It is unthinkable that a UN entity, in charge of safeguarding the rights of women, would ignore such atrocities committed against women and would not call for the release of abducted women and children. The silence of UNWomen on this issue is alarming. It sends a strong message worldwide that violent sexual crimes against Israeli women are acceptable and tolerated. By failing to denounce the crimes committed by Hamas against Israeli women UNWomen failed to carry out its mandate.

Your country is one of the main contributors to UNWomen. We kindly request for your assistance in ensuring that UNWomen fulfills its mandate without discrimination. We ask that your country demand from UNWomen to condemn the violent sexual crimes that Hamas committed against Israeli women and to call for the immediate release of women and children that are held hostage in Gaza.

Thank you.
